I once saw a bumper sticker which said,

"I'll believe corporations are people when Texas executes one."

Whoever designed that deserves a medal for wit.

People do exaggerate how "libertarian" or "liberal" some of these Mountain States are on social issues, but it痴 hard to argue against OK (with one of AR/WV a somewhat distant, but increasingly close second) here.

Texas has the highest total number of executions, Oklahoma has the most per capita.  So Oklahoma.  Oklahoma is the stereotype of Texas.

Probably Alabama because republicans in the mountain west tend to be more libertarian so even though Trump did better in Wyoming and Idaho. It probably still is Alabama.

This. Ohio (my state) has had a fairly large number of executions too but our governor has put a hold on all of them for the time being.

I think California is the most pro death penalty solid blue state. Probably close to the national average.

More like the national average? Not an extreme reactionary outlier like Texas or Alabama?
