Any politician using an emoji in an official statement is extremely cringe.

TIL Tweets from retired politicians are “official statements.”

Anyway, this doesn’t read to me like a shot at Sanders so much as a reminder of the fact that she was the face of the fight for universal healthcare long before he was. It was pretty absurd how people refused to acknowledge that, even as they blamed her for the less progressive policies of the Clinton years. Hillary never could win; back in the day she was painted as some kind of radical leftist (her husband largely avoided this characterization despite being the one with actual power), but by the time she finally was nominated for president, her primary opponent (who has accomplished nothing in decades) had managed to smear her as basically no different from a Republican.
