If Doug Jones was a senator up for reelection in 2020 in FL, how would that have turned out? Tuberville is actually a native of the state, so let's say the exact same race takes place in that state. Does Jones still lose?

Jones has a chance, being an incumbent and more educated than Tuberville. That said, it's advantage for Tuberville as Florida still went for Trump by the strongest R margin since 2004 and has a long standing tendency to prefer the GOP consistently if narrowly.

Doug Jones would probably lose by 1-2% in Florida, since it would be tough to outperform Biden by 3.4% in such a large and polarized state.
