In a sane state (sorry, Bruce), DeSantis wouldn't come close to being Governor, but...

There literally hasn't been a florida gubernatorial race decided by a more than 1.1 point margin since 2006  and DeSantis scraped to victory by a tiny 0.4% margin but sure it's Safe-R cause muh Atlas memes despite 2 of those election taking place in terrible years for democrats.

Remember how the Wisconsin blue wave in 2010 destroyed republican in the state cause it voted for Obama by 13 points in 2008.

Well, we know that the most recent election is the only valid data point in determining the outcome of future elections.

You're sorely mistaken if you don't think that this state is at least Likely R.

There hasn't been a gubernatorial race with a victory margin of more than 1.1 points since 2006. In terrible yeasr for the democrats like 2010 and 2014, republicans only managed to squeek out narrow vicotories. Why 2022 is gonna be different is anybody guesse ? espeicaly given that trumps victory was only by 3.4 points comprable to obamas 2008 2.8 point victory.

Rick Scott wasn't popular. DeSantis has gotten more popular since 2018, which is surely to be a better year for Democrats than 2022.

The fact that Trump won FL by more than Obama despite losing the PV by 4 (Obama won it by 8 in 2008) is rather telling...

I don't understand the point. DeSantis won despite 8.6% Blue Wave. If Dems held WI despite Red Wave, you could surely call WI as ~likely-D (during (R) midterms). No?

If Charlie Crist could not beat an unpopular Rick Scott in 2014, I really don't think the Democrats' prospects of beating DeSantis are very good if A) Desantis is fairly popular.  Right now his approval is in the low 50's.  B) Florida has trended more Republican since 2014.

What you guys don't understand is that DeSantis barely beat an afro-Socialist. This is good wave insurance, as we're leading in NC, NH will split its ticket Hassan/Ayotte Gov, and WARNOCK may have to go to a runoff.

Not only do I understand that, but I was literally there, in fact, having worked on the Gillum campaign, so I recall it painfully well, & what I quite clearly recall was both DeSantis & Scott winning by <1 in a D+9 year after Trump had won the state by 1 in a D+2 year & then followed by Trump winning the state by 3 in a D+4 year, so if you're refusing to understand the reality of this Floridian trend, then at a certain point, you're just denying the undeniable.

This thread was just supposed to be about her tweet making fun of the Governor for being a man-child, but I see how it went off course. There is plenty of actual election analysis to be done in the 17 million other FL-Gov threads

Xing, why do you understimate Crist, Fried is not running for Gov
Gaetz was an ally of DeSantis and ally of Mccarthy, DeSamtis and H Rs are gonna pay for their Lewinsky scandals at the polls

Where are the Rush Limbaugh Evangelicals that criticized Bill CLINTON

Just like I disliked Muhammad Child praising of DeSantis, D's must have a united front to get DeSantis and Josh Mandel out and put CRIST, Ryan and Jackson that will pack the Crt and get rid of Citizens United
