Eleven border Canada, and four border Mexico. Which is your favorite?

In that case, shouldn't Pennsylvania and Ohio be included?

The northern states are mostly FF. Montana, Minnesota, Michigan, New York, Vermont, Maine, are all massive FF.

Probably more direct travel between Florida and Cuba/the Bahamas than directly across Lake Erie, but sure. We are, after all, counting Michigan despite the lack of a land border.

There is a land border on Crystal Island, hence why it is included.

I went with the state that fascinates me the most, the Land of Enchantment.

No, Crystal Island is located entirely within the town of Amherstburg, Michigan.

New Mexico is a state with a long and interesting history that often doesn't get the attention it deserves, would be nice to visit one day.
