Capitol Police opened fire at the north barricade of the Capitol complex, law enforcement sources tell ABC News. Two officers are said to be injured, one critically, the sources said. That officer has been transported to the hospital.

There hasn't been a SOTU this year because Biden said he wanted to wait until after the COVID relief package. Congress has to pass a joint resolution to formally set the date of the address (there's technically never a SOTU in the year following an election, but Presidents give an address to a joint session of congress which functions as a SOTU)

Suspect in Friday's attack has died, sources say.

Multiple sources confirm that the suspect in Friday's attack near the US Capitol has died.

A law enforcement official confirmed earlier that at least one of the officers was stabbed.

Earlier, a senior Congressional aide and a US Capitol Police source told CNN that after a driver rammed a car into a barricade on Constitution Avenue, the driver exited the vehicle brandishing a knife.

The Capitol complex remains in total lockdown, and no one is being allowed in or out of any Capitol buildings.

That is absurd.
Two people are dead, it's not just a simple "security threat."
It would have easily made national news. Here, and in most of America, there was "Breaking News" on most major channels with this important information (during the news conference).

The point is there is a very active threat that requires security. The authorities have much more information than we do and know how much security is necessary.
