My guess is Speaker Pelosi advised her that the votes/momentum wasn't there for this to happen and they wanted to nip it in the bud before it gained too much traction nationally.

It would have been an interesting floor vote to follow and analyze - even if it failed overwhelmingly - but as always, Leadership is afraid of tough votes. This is really an indictment of the closed or heavily structured process the house operates under these days where everything is carefully evaluated with political considerations (i.e. will this help us win the next election) prioritized high high above the truth of the matter or the actual needs of the populace.
