Section 1. Background & Purpose

a. Many companies exploit by pricing out competitors out of the market and control over 50% of the market share for industries. Tactics such as predatory pricing degrade the market. This causes innovation to decline, and as a result, consumers suffer the consequences with poorer product quality. The purpose of this resolution is, broadly, to condemn these practices and reaffirm the enforcement of the federal government to regulate monopolies for consumer protection.
b. The title of this resolution shall be the Market Fairness Resolution of 2021

The purpose of this resolution is to protect the consumer, first and foremost. Secondly, many businesses can take advantage of the market and unduly cause harm to their competitors. It is important to discourage such practices as described in the resolution. I believe this resolution will draw attention to the fact that we need to enforce our existing anti-trust laws.

I echo Senator Spark's advocacy of the bill.

generally resolutions that expressly state that "The [Senate/House] expresses x sentiment" and don't actually do anything are one-house affairs and need to be reintroduced if the other house wants to express the same sentiment. At the very least the text at the top of this should have been edited.
