As they should.
We told progressive Bernie supporters to compromise and take one for the team and they did. Now it’s time for moderates to take one for the team.

Agreed. It's time to pass the 3.5 trillion package with no more reductions. Otherwise, Manchin and Sinema will help Republicans win the midterms. Biden and the Democrats ran on getting things done.

Meanwhile, Pelosi should postphone the bipartisan bill. It shouldn't be voted down yet, but be passed in conjuction with the other one.

The Medicare Expansion doesn't take effect until 2028 anyhow and Manchin said today he isn't for 3.5 T he is for 1.4 T everything lbut Medicare Expansion

So did Sinema

They aren't gonna ram thru a Reconciliation package thru the Senate and Manchin said January after Appropriation bills are passed

I am not saying it shouldn't pass all I am saying Congress has to finish work on Debt ceiling and Appropriation bills and then figure out Medicare for Disabled and Seniors in January it might be 2T but it won't be close to 4T D's can add to it if Covid is Eradicated by Nov 2022 and they win Trifecta, Medicare Expansion can wait since it won't be effective til 2028

D's are afraid to run without a 4T Stimulus bill

Agreed. I’m almost always on the side of the moderates here and I wasn’t pleased with the conduct of Bernie crew during the primaries and stuff but they’ve been team players on a lot of things. Took compromises almost everywhere …fair is fair

34 House Republicans just voted to fund the government, that's probably the maximum number that could vote yes on the infrastructure. It might be enough to get a majority. We'll see, report is that Pelosi is still working on it.

Vote tonight.

Quote
Multiple Democrats said part of the plan would be to hold the vote open until Pelosi can corral enough members for passage, whether that be from the progressive wing of the caucus or from Republicans who support the infrastructure bill. One member described it as a "staredown" strategy.

Pelosi has also called in reinforcements from labor groups, who are sending letters to members of Congress urging them to support the bill.

Just remember guys, Manchin is always secretly doing what the leadership wants, so this mess is clearly what the leadership has secretly been planning for all along. For some reason they wanted the administration to have no achievements for over half a year while the infrastructure bill gets broken down and public enthusiasm wanes. Despite the President's approvals tanking for the past month after Afghanistan, he apparently wants to put off and water down a big campaign promise unnecessarily rather than using it to get back on track.

Is this a parody of other posts or do you actually believe this?

That was a parody, I don’t believe that. I felt like it was a bit hostile though so I decided to delete it (apparently not before you started writing your post though).

Please. Does Pelosi have enough GOP votes for the BIF?

No, if she had votes, they'd be voting right now. Simple.

So my question is, what the latest time is for Pelosi to get the votes in order to vote today? 23:59?

It's no wonder how determined some corporate Democrats are on ensuring that ordinary Americans are helped as little as possible:

Corporate PACs Reward Democrats Opposing Reconciliation Package
Nine Democrats threatening to sink the reconciliation bill pulled in more than $150,000 in PAC donations last month.

He showed us that he lied to all his Senate colleagues. He was saying he wouldn’t move on anything until Oct 1st the same day the Senate was passing Sinema-Portman, and immediately afterwards he paid off some Senate allies to force a vote on the BIF before that.

FWIW, I think he will move forward on negotiations, but only in so far as there’s a pay-off. I see no reason to assume he will be there after the BIF passes.

I'm not married to a specific number, but I would need to see the details of the bill to know whether I'm okay with it or not.

The issue I have is that Manchin was signing this on the same day that the Senate was passing the BIF on the condition that it be tied to reconciliation.

It sure looks like he tried to snow everybody and I see no reason to believe he won’t walk once he gets his end.

Which, TBF, is better than Sinema who will just walk because it’s a total girlboss move.

Do those negotiations include Manchin though that is the question.
