Since it's obvious to everyone the recent election law reform is a GOP effort to restrict voting among the D-leaning constituents and undermine grassroots efforts, could this actually accomplish the exact opposite of its objectives and expedite GA's blue trend?

There's backlash across the nation and even made it into international news, so could that bleed the GOP more support? Particularly in previous R-dominated suburbs. I feel like this is a real possibility and would really enjoy such an own goal by the GOP. What do you think?

It'll definitely increase D turnout. It could speed up party-switching too, but I doubt it will be anything dramatic. Insert often-repeated thing about how a lot of Georgia's movement is actually migration and not Romney-third party-Biden voting.

It’s certainly possible that such voting “restrictions” may end up blowing up in the Republicans’ faces. Just look at how Democrats exploited the runoff system in the state - which had originally been instituted to favor white candidates over black candidates - to pick off two Republican-held Senate seats, sending their first Black Democrat to the Senate in the process.

I think it is more likely that it galvanizes proponents of federal reform and ends up helping that pass, which would help GA and other states by essentially erasing years of GOP voter suppression efforts - at least for federal elections.

I'm more skeptical it has any other effect long-term.

David Perdue's whiny complaints that in any of the other 49 states he would've won on election day (Louisiana, California, and Washington beg to differ but whatever) is not wrong, but when you set up bespoke rules, don't be surprised when the other party starts rules lawyering you.

No. There are virtually no swing voters in Georgia and elections are merely turnout games. The reforms may slightly change turnout in the short run but has no significant impact on the demographics of the state.
