In Recognition of the fact that only a single member of the Labor Party still serves in the Council

And out of a desire expressed in consultation with other Councillors to establish a government that actually reflects the views of the majority of the Council

The Council of Lincoln hereby has no further confidence in the Service of Mr. S019 as Chancellor, and thus hereby moves that he be summarily removed as Chancellor and the Office of Chancellor be declared Vacant.

Members shall cast their votes on this motion.

Indeed, S019 will remain a standard member of the Council, fully entitled to all of the powers of that role, regardless of the result of the motion.

I don't really care if this fails or passes considering that I don't even know what the Chancellor does, but I remember Labor denying Ninja the Chancellorship on something like this, so I don't really see why the comparison to this being a kangaroo court is valid when Labor has done things like this in the past.

Moving forward, I hope members will join me in seeking to preserve the tradition of keeping the role of Chancellor and Speaker separate, even if the Constitutional provision on this matter has been recently removed.

I mean Labor only holds 1 seat in this council now, and the precedent was already set the the Chancellor represents the partisan majority coalition. We now have a council where S019 does not represent the views of the council at large. So this is to be expected.
