This only makes his 2018 decision even more of a Freedom Decision. It's unfortunate that *ge resorted to the dark arts to prolong his untimely grip on power in defiance of olawakandi's wishes.

He became very unpopular after ignoring late Senator Daniel Inouye's dying wish to appoint Colleen Hanabusa to the vacant Senate seat, and choose his then-Lieutenant Governor Brian Schatz, with hindsight, it was probably the right choice, and while I probably wouldn't have supported the primary challenge, it was kind of inevitable, because supporters of Inouye were very angered by this move. Here's to hoping that Josh Green runs in 2022, and we can have an actually good Democrat be Governor.

Atlas jokes aside, I don’t think senators should be able to handpick their successors. Schatz has been a very good senator, imo.

*ge shouldn’t run, like Market agains Kennedy.  HI is the most expensive place to live and minimum wage is 10.10 an hour and you need a car.  Very little Transportation, similarly to San Francisco and Oakland.  Most people are leaving HI and San Francisco and moving to AZ.  But I was a Buddhist like *ge, but they give leadership posts to WC and Asians very few AA are leaders, because you have to past leadership test and they don’t give you the test results.
