WEB Dubois ACT

HOUSE BILL

Be it resolved in the Atlasian Congress Assembled,

SECTION 1.

1. This Act may be cited as the "WEB Dubois Act”.

SECTION 2.

1. a. olawakandi shall be considered an eternal citizen of the Republic of Atlasia, as part of the Social Democratic Party in the state of Missouri.
b. He shall not be subject to normal automatic deregistration provisions, regardless of whether he votes in Atlasian elections.
c. He shall receive all rights and privileges normally reserved for citizens of Atlasia.
2. The Registrar General shall update the census accordingly.


SECTION 3.
1. Should olawakandi register in the New Register Thread, this Act shall become null and void.

This bill makes a respected former Atlasian, olawakandi, a citizen, and under the Social Democratic Party because that is what he was in Atlasia, and part of Missouri because that is what he was registered in his brief stay in the game.

This seems like a great way to make Peebs' life even harder.

If olawakandi wants to join he should join of his own volition, like every other citizen currently on the rolls. Being a prophet shouldn't get you special voting privileges or any other bestowment of recognition and approval by the state; that would rather defeat the point of being a prophet.

In view of the other bills currently on the floor which look likely to inundate the SoFE's office with work if passed in their current forms, I urge the House to vote Nay on this bill. We already have an act to pay due respect to olawakandi's achievements – without necessitating extra registration shenanigans and without creating extra work for Peebs – that will ultimately fulfil the same purpose this bill seeks to achieve.
