Would Marc D’Amelio be a good candidate to run against Ned Lamont in 2022? He’s the father of TikTok celebrities Dixie and Charli D’Amelio and previously ran for a state senate seat in 2018.

Wow, real star power there.

He didn't perform particularly strongly in his State Senate run, so no.

He wasn’t famous at the time. Also it’s not like he did that much worse than Stefanowski.

Okay, please explain to me how being the father of TikTok 'celebrities' is going to swing thousands of voters across the state, or anyone above 25. Fair enough if he's a likeable R that would perform well in Connecticut but he's not going to get anything from being the father of two people that most people in Connecticut haven't heard of. If he's just seen as being some influencer rather than for any qualities he does have that would harm him, not help him.

Also, Lamont is highly likely to perform better than he did against Stefanowski, so the fact he did worse by any means wouldn't bode well if much were to be read into it.

D'Amelio or Krupinsky could gain....CT governors are usually unpopular, before the pandemic, Lamont was unpopular because of the property taxes.......

Half of Charli and Dixie's fans probably aren't even old enough to vote anyways, and if they were then they probably wouldn't vote for someone with an (R) next to their name.

We’ll see where that number goes by 2022. For all we know it may end up being the same.

Well Charli D'Amelio is #1 on famousbirthdays.com, so obviously anyone associated with her would automatically win any election.

I know this is sarcasm, but when you look at the top 10 on Famous Birthdays and realize it's all teen pop singers and tiktok stars and youtubers and dancers (mostly geared towards kids and teens anyways), you realize most of their fans aren't even of voting age yet. Even lowering the minimum voting age to 16 would probably only do so much.

Mark Boughton is still probably the Connecticut GOP's best bet, but I wouldn't put it past them to nominate another psychopath instead of him again.

Lamont isn’t losing, regardless of the GOP puts up against him. Next.

Considering the D'Amelio family now has their own reality show, I doubt Marc is planning on running for office anytime soon, instead choosing to ride off his daughters' star power like he's already doing.

The whole family does now I think, probably because of their new reality show plus Charli and Dixie’s tiktok “careers”

Not really going to help him in the GOP primary.
