Labor's candidate for OK Governor will be Hank Boomhauer, to make up for our failure to make a King of the Hill reference for Texas. What a blown opportunity.

Labor has released a late public statement responding to Federalist lies. I hope it receives credit or half-credit, but I wanted to set the record straight anyway.

It's nothing personal. Competing populist campaigns is a fun dynamic.

Mr. GM, the Labor mega-rally in Oklahoma City is our final act on the campaign trail and should be treated as a single event.

Are the parties not allowed only one event before Election Day, even if that one event includes multiple speeches from different people? Cao has posted several different events well past the deadline.

Labor in last place, but I'm not disputing the results for being skewed against Labor. This isn't Frémont and it's obviously not a state where Labor is popular. Parties need to pick their battles, especially if only a small handful of players are actually campaigning.

It was a fun campaign and I'm glad that we were able to do it after Lumine's departure. Peanut had a lot on his plate for a new GM and managed the simulation very well. Frankly though I'm disappointed that this campaign caused WM to deregister. These campaigns are not meant to be personal and I tried to keep my speeches strictly issues-focused.

The whole point of these campaigns is to have fun. Oklahoma turning red and Wisconsin flipping orange ultimately has no effect on anyone.

Just stepping in to note that I have received zero applications for the Comptroller General position. The entire point of keeping it separate was so that people could be moved in and out of the position quickly so that it could remain active even when one holder of the office went inactive. This situation, of course, is a complete breakdown of that idea.

The position at this point probably does need some reform, but as far as I’m aware the discussion over this in congress reached a standstill because no one is willing to trust members of the opposing faction to be impartial. This is arguably a bigger problem with NPC elections, where this stuff actually has major implications, as opposed to the rest of the game where having the numbers guy be biased against you is an annoying inconvenience at worst.

If I were capable of doing more than basic math, I'd probably apply for the job myself. Alas...

Lumine is one of a few people who could be trusted with scoring bills if that is the issue, but I think he's done with this stuff for a while. Has Yankee expressed interest? Most people trust him too.

I personally lean against an extension. While there have been fewer events overall, we've seen all the parties campaign in most places this cycle. I'm personally getting worn out. Don't forget that Cao has done several events too, wordy as they normally are.

Also, if an extension were to be granted, wouldn't that take an act of all the regions? If so, then it's way too late for this to be considered.

The only thing I care about, personally, is the quality of campaigns and not quantity. Detailed policy speeches should count more than one or two paragraphs of vague platitudes. With posters, it obviously gets trickier to grade art objectively, but if the art was taken from somewhere else (like with my and Truman's posters), they shouldn't receive full credit for not being original.

THANK YOU, IOWA!!! What a great collective effort it's been to turn an entire region red. Labor always had a strong advantage in Fremont, but lazy parties that have no new ideas do not make these historic victories in both "real" elections and NPC ones.

I raise my glass to you, comrades. Particularly the Beauty and Bread Party which scored many Labor victories throughout the Commonwealth.

Labor will officially be endorsing the Liberal Party in Guam, and Liberals will ally with Labor in Texas.

And thus, it begins!

Lumine was regged in Gilbraltrar last time I checked, though Tongue

Indeed, I resided in Utah for quite a while, and have remained in Gibraltar due to not wanting to affect the partisan balance while GM. Looking forward to registering again on the state after this set is over though, I don't think the issue of those us who have registered in parts of the UK has been yet addressed on the new Constitution (?)

This does appear to be a problem. As far as I know, under the new Constitution you would not be eligible to vote in a subregional election; you could only vote in the regionwide Senate race.

So either we keep the CMA and block people registered in the UK from voting in subregional elections, or we annex the country. The CMA will probably have to be scrapped, or at least the part that lets you reside in the country while being a fully eligible voter in your home region. And people who currently reside in the UK should probably just pick a state or territory we've annexed.

I'm going to ask if it is possible to do a recount considering the closeness of the final count.
withdrawing the request. Congrats labor for a hard-fought, narrow victory! We'll see how things go next month Tongue

Congratulations to the DA on the progress they made across the board this evening, including their two surprise pickups in Missouri and Kentucky.

Welcome to being the official opposition, I suppose. Tongue

I made a few comments on Labcord (I think you miscalculated a few of these, and Vermont shouldn't get 150 House seats), but this is one thing I want to get out of the way before campaigning starts: do states in Lincoln have triple taxation? Clearly the Southern government never absorbed funding for state services, so the states are forced to fund themselves while people pay local + state + regional + federal taxes. Fremont eliminated state and local taxation and the only people who pay any taxes to Denver are the very wealthy. What is Lincoln's policy?
