From watching Denver TV for the past week+ I've grown an emotional interest in this race.  It's decided tonight.  This is the seat that Bob Beauprez vacated (or will vacate) in order to run for Governor.  Three candidates are:

Herb Rubenstein: He's my favorite but no real chance at winning.  He strikes me as a progressive anti-war type

Peggy Lamm: slime.  One of her commercials completely turn me off.  I'll try to find a webcast of it and/or will explain it in detal to you all

Ed Perlmutter: I'd end up voting for him and he looks like the favorite to win.

The poll I saw on NBC's Denver affiliate (KUSA-9) said Perlmutter 51% Lamm 33% Rubenstein 10%.

I'll do some more research for information and that commercial and see who cares.  We'll be all wrapped up in Lieberman/Lamont anyway.

Thanks to KUSA-9 Denver; the Peggy Lamm ad that causes all the controversy.  Enjoy

And the KUSA "truth test" of the ad, with something that resembles an interrupted transcript if the video doesn't work

The only thing that video shows for me is a commercial for an auto glass shop.

The commercial should run after the autoshop advert.

Perlmutter is the best candidate.  If Lamm wins, this Dem-leaning seat (for 2006, definitely) would go to toss-up, because the GOP candidate is not a pushover, at all and has fundraised better than any of the Dems.

OK, finally got it to work.

I'm interested in what exactly made the bill unconstitutional. Still, that last line in the ad is a VERY low blow.

Probably nothing and Perlmutter likely just made it up on the fly.  Which makes me mad, and Rubenstein's really my guy, but the last line of that ad makes me hate Peggy Lamm so much I'd have to vote for Perlmutter.

Absentee Ballots:

Perlmutter 9619 54%
Lamm 6412 38%
Rubenstein 1525 8%

That closely reflectes what the lone poll of this district showed.  Hopefully it also will reflect the results in the coming hours.
