I'd like to thank President Sestak for the nomination to the Vice Presidency. It is a great honor.

While I'm aware that the Vice Presidency is a busy job with various administrative duties, I am confident that I can execute this job competently. I have consistently been one of the most active legislators, both in Fremont and in Nyman, and I also have experience running a chamber during my tenure of Speaker of the Fremont Parliament. I hope that this august body will vote for my confirmation, and I look forward to answer questions and assuage any concerns Senators might have.

Before a "totally unexpected" shakeup, it was discussed whereby Sestak would give some of his slots to FalterinArc to balance the workload and engage the Deputy PoC more. Do you support Sestak's plan for this and will you try to implement it?

I'm not sure what you mean by this query. I can say, however, that I currently have no plans to run for President - though regardless I would appreciate clarification on how this is relevant to my qualifications for this position.

I'm supportive of this plan - I would pursue an arrangement where, for instance, the Deputy PoC handles the House slots while the VP takes the remainder. Something like this would be beneficial for both balancing the workload (as you said) and ensuring that Congressional business can run more smoothly - I just recently learned about this, though, and will discuss with Falterin the best way to proceed with this plan assuming we're both confirmed.

Why should people settle for OBD, when OBD II allows for better environmental monitoring?

What qualities will you bring to the Vice Presidency? How are you prepared to take the top job?

Well, unlike OBD II (which is a machine), I have the ability of sentient thought, which is more than appropriate tradeoff for my subpar environmental monitoring.

As I mentioned in my opening statement, I've been consistently active in the legislative positions I've served in, and I have previous experience in a similar (though less taxing) job as Speaker of the Fremont Parliament. If confirmed to the Vice Presidency, I'll be diligent about keeping the business of Congress rolling smoothly, and I'll continue to partake in healthy debate in both chambers to ensure that each bill passed is the best possible product.

You think that is an asset for being Vice President? Machine like robotic behavior is a job requirement for a chamber admin. Tongue

Congrats on being nominated.

1.) What do you see as being the biggest challenge when serving as VP?

2.) What do you think Atlasia & both the house & senate could be doing better?

3.) Are there any policy areas where you'll be wanting to take a lead as VP?

Given your recent refusal to follow through on an election related Bet, how can we trust that you will draft truthful statements and behave in an ethical manner as Vice President?

1) I've heard a lot about how VP is a very intensive job in terms of workload, so I think consistently staying on top of things and getting acclimatized to the multiple duties of the job will be a challenge  at first. But I'm willing to put in the work, and I intend to be an active steward if confirmed to this office.

2) Ultimately, I'd like to see more activity in general. I'm confident that many newly elected Senators and Representatives can bring this to the table, but there has been unfortunate instances of many elected officials choosing not to partake in debate on important bills, on both sides. Speaking to Atlasia as a whole, I hope to see the recent polarization that has afflicted this nation subside - as leadership in one of the two major presidential campaigns, I was appalled to see the harsh rhetoric in some of the partisan attacks deployed both publicly and in DMs, and I hope that now that the election's over both sides can come together to bring civility in debate back to Atlasian politics.

3) I hope to work with Congress to get something done about amending voting requirements - I've stated this both in public and on the House floor, but I believe the recent incidence of offsite recruiting needs to be addressed in legislative form. Now that the election directly affected by this is passed, I hope that there can be a bipartisan response to prevent offsite recruiting in the future - however, I understand that there are ideological fissures here on both partisan sides and as Vice President I'll aim to craft a bill curtailing the current ease of offsite recruiting that Congress can pass and President Sestak will sign. Additionally, as Vice President, I'll work to keep discussion on bills active - for instance, a bill written by then-Representative Sev on urban development fell by the wayside for months. I'll try to limit this phenom as Vice President.

I have the utmost respect for the integrity of the office of Vice President. I will not make or seek profit from bets in my capacity as Vice President, and I urge the Councillor to grow a humor bone and/or understand that election night levity and one's actual qualifications for political office are distinct factors.

This seems to have eased up in terms of questioning. I will motion for a final vote in case people are satisfied.

Senators have 24 hours to object.

OBD was censured, almost unanimously, by his own party for his failure to eat a sock. I urge the Senate not to move this nomination forward until OBD keeps his promise.
