I prefer Diamond Bar, CA, especially the wealthy precincts where there are mansions. I prefer having summer weather in winter.

Northampton, actually. And I say this as a strong proponent of heat, megacities, and diversity. But Diamond Bar is boring af and I have fond associations with the Pioneer Valley.

I also prefer the more mainstream politics in Diamond Bar.

As always, I tend to find places with a cooler climate more agreeable to me. So Northampton it is.

L.A. County (outside the city center) is largely suburban trash, so Northampton by default.

I'll take almost anywhere on the east coast (except Florida) over almost anywhere on the west coast.

Well that's a terrible take. Your loss.

I'm slightly exaggerating, but I do get the sense I wouldn't feel as home out there as I would on the east coast.

Diamond Bar sounds somewhat interesting, but I would prefer the weather of Northampton and personally the Pioneer Valley sounds quite nice.

If I could move anywhere in the US, I would want to move to a ski resort town in the Colorado Rockies.

College town, ALATT, kinda counterculture (but not as much as it was a decade or two ago), extremely lesbian. Think a distaff version of the Castro District, surrounded by farmland.

Obviously Northampton, where I'd be able to see my grandfather every day and go to Jonathan Edwards' church whenever I felt like it.

I didn't know you had family in Western Mass! Do you ever visit the area?

My grandfather was a professor at UMass for some 50 years and lived in the same Amherst house through it all, until a couple years ago when he moved into a smaller place in Northampton with his partner. I've visited him many many times over years of family vacations; to the point where I'd say Amherst (and to some extent Northampton) is the city I know the best outside my own hometown. One of my favorite things we do in Western Mass when I'm there is driving through the Berkshires, where we often go to see Shakespeare & Company in Lenox.
