This is a really close one, but I'm gonna go with 2010. dw93 gave a good overview of the differences. I think for me the slightly bigger gains, the fact that Republicans flipped the House (and held it for the next eight years), and the (imo) somewhat bigger impacts on policy, very slightly outweigh the massive amount of total seats won by Democrats. However, it's possible I could be swayed by a deeper dive into state/local elections.
