And also Stacey Abrams. May we see Shaun King, Cenk Uygur, and Marianne Williamson all jump the gun onto the KCP train as well?

This could end up much closer after Chambers endorsing her ...

Also, put a reference in the thread title: „April 24 runoff“

Wow, that would be so awesome if KCP could pull this off.

Unfortunately, I don't think she will. Troy Carter seems mostly fine though, he does have Ro Khanna's endorsement.

He seems like a pretty standard establishment D though. He seems to be hesitant to go all in on M4A, whereas KCP has expressed support for M4A. In a primary (or in this case, a runoff) between two Democrats, I'm going to opt for the one that supports M4A first. I bet Carter would be fine, but I would prefer KCP if given the choice.

Do we know who’s winning so far?

The 52.000 are statewide BTW, so LA-02 maybe only accounts for 20.000 votes or so.

„Winning“ so far are Black voters, women and registered Democrats.

Down here in Louisiana competing ads have been trying to portray Troy Carter as a closet Republican and Peterson as incompetent

In New Orleans County, far more women have voted early than men.

Not sure if this helps Peterson or not.

Probably no effect.

For whatever reasons woman are generally more likely to vote then men, so it’s probably a wash

In the south this is unfortunately because more AA men are likely to have lost their voting rights to (frequently unjust) incarceration than women, which slants the electorates demographics.

Must also have something to do with them being more involved with church I expect.

I wasn’t just referring to AA communities, but yea Jim Crow voting laws effect men more then women

BTW:

This runoff is today.

Turnout seems to be worse than in round one, because 14.000 ballots were cast early in New Orleans vs. 16.000 in the first round.

In New Orleans County, far more women have voted early than men.

This is causing me physical pain.

(Also, a possible reason turnout is down: not all of Orleans Parish is in District 2, and many precincts aren’t open today because there’s nothing on the ballot.)

I'll say that these special elections are much more mundane and low key compared to the one in the trump era
