Would a Democratic governor of Nebraska ever have this approval rating? Not a chance. Not even if he campaigned on building a wall.
Ben Nelson won almost every county when he got reelected to the Senate in 2006 against Pete Ricketts (our current GOP governor). I don't think that that's possible for now, but before 2010 Nebraska had a long history of electing Democrats throughout the 20th century.
