At the time I would have voted for Bloomberg.  If I had, I'd be regrettoing this today.

Jeb! can’t win. Bloomberg would eat him alive. He’s not exactly super charismatic either, but he’s not a total pushover dud like Jeb! Plus America was beyond sick of Bushes at that point, which is why Hillary also would have crushed him. Jeb! was the weakest candidate in that entire field, and I must admit I was disappointed and somewhat surprised that the Republican base figured that out so quickly even as their elites didn’t. The idea of Jeb! winning states like Oregon is beyond laughable.

I think that matchup is as close to a reverse of the real 2016 as you can get, putting the edgy New York billionaire and the establishment candidate from a political dynasty on the opposite parties. And again similarly to the real 2016, I think Bloomberg would appear as the outsider, reform-minded candidate and win off of those merits.

Another similarity between Bloomberg and Trump would be that neither were orthodox nominees for their parties, having each been members of the opposite party in the past.
