He runs for Speaker of the House, uncommon for a freshman, but wins narrowly from a coalition of Blue Dog Dems admiring his shrewdness and Freedom Caucus types who voted for him initially as a joke but came to desire what they thought would lead to a fractured and ineffectual Democratic caucus. Air Force One crashes with no survivors and Mikey M is elevated to the presidency. He runs for and earns the Democratic nod for 2024 amidst a crowded field of candidates unable to distinguish themselves from one another, and wins election to a full term on the strength of post-COVID economic recovery.
