Biden runs for re-election, however the Ukraine scandal is revealed to be a real thing and it is also revealed that he has millions of dollars in offshore bank accounts, some of which are in Ukraine. Two days before her inauguration, Tulsi is assassinated by a disgruntled left winger that claims that he did it because "Bernie can still win." Jimmy Carter pulls a Grover Cleveland and beats Ron DeSantis in a massive upset that shocks the political establishment. The election is very close, and Carter wins the PV by only 1%. He does worse than Biden among minorities and suburban voters, but he gets Al Gore levels among rural white southerners. He is sworn in with Roy Cooper as his running mate.
