The way they think sitting him on camera with Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham of all people is a winning move. And he’s talking about erections? Please bffr.

They really don't think it's an embarrassing look for him to be chaperoned on every TV hit he now does?

It's less embarrassing than what he would do without the chaperones.

And here's a new piece of bad news for Walker:

Quote
Republican Herschel Walker is getting a tax break intended only for a primary residence this year on his home in the Dallas, Texas, area, despite running for Senate in Georgia.

Publicly available tax records reviewed by CNN’s KFile show Walker is listed to get a homestead tax exemption in Texas in 2022, saving the Senate candidate approximately $1,500 and potentially running afoul of both Texas tax rules and some Georgia rules on establishing residency for the purpose of voting or running for office.

Walker registered to vote in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2021 after living in Texas for two decades and voting infrequently. In Texas, homeowner regulations say you can only take the exemption on your “principal residence.”

He probably didn't file the paperwork when he changed his principal residence. I doubt this one was done with fraudulent intent. One would think his campaign staff would vet things like this. Walker has to be the most incompetent Senate candidate of the season, with Blake Masters the weirdest.

True but if he actually intended to commit to Georgia, why keep a house in Texas at all? It’s not for the natural beauty or cultural events. Most likely he still has the house, enabling this issue to come up, because he’s moving back if he loses.

Apparently you are not allowed to point out the racial realities of voting in the Deep South on this forum without being punished by the mod team, but suffice it to say that the kind of person who votes GOP in Georgia is probably perfectly happy with this dynamic.

Given the precedent this cycle, is there a chance this ruling contributes to Dem turnout?

I would say that it mitigates any concerns about D turnout dropping off.

You can point it out without engaging in over-the-top hyperbole.

I do notice that GA has a modest income tax.

This could benefit Warnock, just like it helped the Dems in PA.
The "carpetbagger" label and commercials about Oz, had been reported to assist Fetterman to a good extent.
If Warnock can bleed Walker and gain say 1 or 2% from this, he is in.
I would flood the TV market with massive commercials on Walker being an out-of-state opportunist.

Walker could rape a 12 year old boy on national TV and murder him afterward and he'd still get the voters he already got in on election day.

These stories won't move the needle more than they already have done.

Might make Republicans stay home, but I don't think anyone who hasn't already switched will switch to Warnock. People are justifying Walker's retardation with "it's a Senate seat," and while it's not a completely groundless argument, I find it really distasteful and devoid of morality. Everytime I hear that argument it makes me hope for the party to lose even more ground.

Herschel seems like a nice man and a good athlete, but he ain't cut out for the job.

If Republicans were looking at the athlete route, they should have looked at Tom Glavine or some other Georgian great.

My final prediction: Warnock 51, Walker 49

Warnock retires from politics in '28. He gets voting rights legislation done in his career.

Why should Warnock retire in 2028 when he's not even 60 years old? Unless he gets promoted to president or vice president.

I really cannot for the life of me understand why red counties are instituting all these limits on when people can vote as opposed to blue counties. I guess just dogma? It seems blindingly obvious that, assuming your county is run by the same party as a majority of its voters (true for most Georgia counties afaik), it is always in your best interest to allow as much voting as possible.

Even in deep blue/red counties there are pockets of voters of the other party you can target. Colleges as an famous example. Making it harder to vote for college students is easy to do and quite effective considering how loopsided their support for dems is.

Dems could do something similar but not as effective in targeting the outer more exurban parts of their suburban strongholds.
