Instead of the New York Yankees winning the 1996 World Series that led to their 1990s dynasty, what if the then defending World Series champions Atlanta Braves did not blow Game 4, and won the '96 WS to repeat as World Champions and have 2 titles instead of their sole title, the 1995 title.

Would that have changed baseball history?

With that starting rotation, they could and should've won every World Series in the late 90s.

Glavine, Smoltz, Maddux, Avery, Millwood, Neagle, this was probably one of the greatest pitching squads to walk the Earth. Talented, talented players.

Braves pitching coach Leo Mazzone should be in the HOF....

With the invigorated optimism pervading the city of Atlanta resulting from  winning the 1996 World Series, Bill Clinton wins Georgia in 1996, inspiring Gore to put more effort there (and the rest of the South) in 2000. While this does not help him to win Georgia in 2000, it does let him win Florida by around a thousand votes, giving him the election, thereby avoiding the Invasion of Iraq and its consequences, tho I'm not going to have the World Trade Center attacks entirely butterflied away, as you will see.

Conversely, with New York City dispirited from the Yankees' failure to win a World Series since 1978, Rudy Giuliani decides much earlier not to run for the Senate, giving Rick Lazio much more time to plan his campaign, and for the Liberal Party time to find someone other than Hillary Clinton to back. (The Liberal Party of New York had originally planned to back Giuliani for Senate as it previously had for Mayor.) The combination enables Lazio to eke out a narrow victory. Gore offers Hillary the job of UN Ambassador, which she accepts. This leads to her stirring speech at the World Trade Center after the September 18 attacks. After Gore and Lieberman have a falling out late in 2003, Gore reluctantly offers Hillary the running mate post in the 2004 campaign, which she reluctantly accepts. However, Gore/Clinton loses to the Romney/McCain ticket, which holds the White House for the next eight years, with Obama retaking the White House for the Democrats in 2012. In the recent 2020 elections, the Republicans have regained the White House, with Donald Trump promising that as a successful businessman, he can fix the problems Obama caused to Romneycare, that left us unprepared for the Chinavirus.  Given Donald's age, there are some who think Vice President Abbott will likely head the Republican ticket in 2024, but we will see.
