What exactly are the odds of Kennedy running?

I feel like he makes noise about running for Governor every four years, but he's never pulled the trigger. It's kind of a boy who cried wolf situation at this point.

Maybe both senators will face each other? Nah too exciting...

Cassidy would be at a heavy disadvantage, his vote to convict Trump will hurt him. It's shaping up to be quite a clown car for the GOP though, makes it less likely to be an R vs. R runoff.

I really, really hope Cassidy runs, even if I don't think he'd win in a one-on-one race/runoff situation. Cannot stand the thought of Landry or Kennedy getting in.

Well, we all know who'd win...The one who voted to impeach Trump, make no mistake, is DONE politically.

Of his 24 endorsements, I count just one where his candidate has won, FL-GOV. One where there's a runoff (GA-SEN). And one (CA-13) that is inconclusive (of the guy's 24 endorsements, this is the only one where he endorsed the Democrat - not sure why, tbh, but it's currently 86% in and the Democrat is up 50.3-49.7%). 21/24, or over 87%, of his endorsed candidates have already lost their races, LOL! Shows what the "red wave" ultimately turned out to be.

It would've been very awkward if he challenged Kennedy

Jeff Landry will be the next governor unless something really strange happens.

Well, at least we're spared 10 months of olawakandi absolutely butchering this guy's name.

Has anyone brought up the possibility of two Democrats sneaking into the top 2 with all these Republicans running?

I think a Washington 2016 Treasurer situation has only ever penalised Dems, can't think of a reverse situation.

It happened in 2020 to Christy Smith's state Assembly seat. The five Democratic candidates collectively got more votes in the primary than the two Republicans, but the Democrats got locked out because three of them were only separated by a handful of votes.

Christy Smith is a living bad luck charm I think.

I doubt that happens but it would be amazing if it did.

no because it's not going to happen

Landry will not be well liked by polite society but he'll be very formidable. He may even get 50%+1 and second place won't matter
