Cook already downgrading the race all the way to Lean R:

Are you kidding me? Lol I thought they would downgrade it to Likely and that would be too aggressive.

In a Biden midterm, a state that voted 4 points to the right of the nation is rated as "lean D" and one that voted 13 points to the right is "lean R". This is kind of ridiculous; are they expecting this to be a D+9 year or something:?
..

Stop saying a Biden midterm, 2010 we had 11 percent Unemployment, 2014 and 2018 we had red Senate maps.

2014 D's lost AR, AK, LA and NC and 1 blue state CO SD, MT and WVA were also lost

2018 D's lost MO, IN and ND

Only 1 D inc Mark Udall lost in a blue state, the rest are red states

2016 we lost WI, PA, OH, FL and IN but Strickland, Bayh and Kate McGinty lost due to Hillary

We have a good record in blue states midterms or not

Cook Political now unironically believes Ohio is as competitive as Wisconsin.

2 yrs is a long time for ratings changes

Danny O'connor is definitely looking at this race, Tim Ryan looks like he is staying in the House, but this is a gift to Ds

!!!!!! Awesome.

YES! Iowa is no. 2 if Grassley retires, Liz.
Better go after Marco Rubio in Florida as well.

Run Val Demings against Marco Rubio.

Val Deming's isn't giving up a safe House seat to runn against Rubio

He is Cuban..

But D's have a slew of D's like Danny O'connor to run for open Senate seat

Ohio is the inverse of Virginia, this race is Safe R

No it's not, Sherrod Brown is an entranced incumbent, we are gonna win OH.  Why do Rs think that WI, OH, MN and IA are safe R we get the same routine every Election, it never changes

We also have Biden whom have a 52 Percent approvals not 40 percent Trump, that's why Ron Johnson is at 35 percent in the polls and on the verge of losing

I am waiting for Tim Ryan to run, if he loses he will go for Cabinet and run for Gov in 2026, no sense to stay in an R gerrymandering OH

I will donate to Fetterman, Jackson and Ryan if they all are nominated

Sherrod Brown won in a midterm Election and Ohio isn't a permanent R state, I can see a scenario where Ds will win this race

Ohio isn't IA with 3 C's Cleveland, Cincinnati and Columbus and I want Tim Ryan to win

I hope it's Tim Ryan v Josh Mandel, I don't think Jim Jordan runs

I am all in for Fetterman, Jackson and Tim Ryan, Tim Ryan is the only one that can win this seat.

Betty Sutton ran for Gov and Lt Gov and have failed

Ryan is probably, and I emphasize that word, the best potential candidate Democrats have. Since his seat will probably get carved up in redistricting and only makes sense for him to run.

If Jim renacci sticks with his plan to primary do line, the Republican primary probably becomes a Mandel- Jordan race even if they are not the only declared candidates.

If Jordan wins, that's probably the only scenario where the race becomes somewhat competitive. But even then running against Ryan it's still probably somewhere between lean-to likely R given Ohio's painfully  rapid republican Trend and the fact it'll be a Biden midterm election.

I wish these things weren't true. It was bad enough having Jordan as my Congressman for several years , so the thought of him as my senator makes my skin crawl. Nevertheless, that doesn't make this glum prognosis any less real.

Wouldn’t Jim Jordan stay in the house to get his shot at the Judiciary chair?

Jim Jordan like Hassert has a wrestling coach problem, he is scandaled

Tim Ryan seems like a much better bet than a doctor with an unvetted past.

But Dems aren't going to win here, so not a huge difference.

James Harrison says D's have an excellent chance to contest OH, PA, GA and NC

Biden has a 52 Percent approvals not 40 percent Trump and Clinton, Kennedy and Bush W all gained seats in Midterms when they had 50 approvals.

God this is such an overrated race already. I guess it could flip if everything goes right for Democrats, as 2018 proves it’s still POSSIBLE for them to win in OH statewide, but does anyone seriously think they’ll flip a Senate seat in a Trump + 8 state that voted 13 points to the nation in an national in a Biden midterm?

You keep saying a Biden midterm and it's only goes against Inc party when Prez Approvals are 40 percent we have two yrs to get the Economy back and D's are much better off in OH with Tim Ryan than with Val Deming's in FL

2018 Brown won in a Midterm Environment where Rs picked up MO, IN and ND, and DeWine was Elected Gov

Biden approvals are 52 Percent

If D's nominate Tim Ryan they will win James Harrison said he is putting money into Ohio

Jim Jordan isnt running due to fact he has a sex issue like Hassert does with wrestling, he is a terrible candidate other than for where he is at now. Users on this site need to realize that.

Tim Ryan, I signed up for his emails fully intends on going for Senate, he said that if I donated during his campaign season, he will have the money to win the seat

We need Tim Ryan to run for this seat, a Betty Sutton candidate, lost many times already, eventhough I would welcome another female in the Senate

Tim Ryan wants the job of Senator

The Rs know that they won't win with Mandel so they are trying to recruit a business donor especially if Tim Ryan enters the race, but if Tim Ryan runs it's a competetive race no matter what
