Tim Ryan would be the best OHDP candidate that they have.

LeBron does not live in OH anymore, and even if he ran, he would lose rural Ohio badly.

This thread should not have 16 (now 17) pages. This is not a competitive race.

It will be, by Tim Ryan.

Ohio is Lean R, so is Florida, Iowa, Missouri, but the right candidate can win it.....

Dolan currently serves as a State Senator in the Cleveland suburbs, having won re-election by 9% as Biden carried his district by 6%. Dolan’s well-positioned to be the only moderate in a crowded race full of MAGA chuds. While that probably isn’t enough to pull off a win, it helps that his family are literal billionaires. He has a capacity to self-fund that neither Timken nor even Vance has.

Mandel, Timkin, and Vance is a pretty divided Trumpist field.  I’d say if at least one of Davidson, Johnson, or maybe even Mike Turner (for geographic politics reasons, especially if he runs a Trumpy campaign) jumps in too and Joyce stays out then he has a very real shot.

Dolan is also a Cleveland Indians executive...shows that money talks....Dolan may be McConnell's favorite candidate since he is corporate......

With all the comparisons of Ohio now being what Missouri was 10 years ago , remember 10 years ago the GOP ran Todd Akin for the senate and lost that race.

While I have this race as Likely R, Josh Mandel has the potential to be the Todd Akin of this race and blow it

I don't know. Barring a Roy Moore-Martha Coakley situation, OH and MO are Likely R........Tim Ryan is a good candidate and he should win, but Ohio has turned red....same thing with MO and FL and IA.....Likely R until further notice

Being Jewish, seeing a Jewish politician repeatedly say some version of the 14 words to try to fit in with white nationalists and become their leader makes me want to vomit.

Mandel’s Jewish? Never knew

Yes, Mandel is Jewish. Mandel and Zeldin are Jewish rightwingers....they have to appeal to the base...

Who wins the white vote overall? Ryan or the GOP field?

Sherrod Brown won the white vote against Renacci in 2018.

If the Ohio Republican Party eats each other up by now and May and there is still divisions, Tim Ryan better go on the offense and attack Republicans as fascists who want to give tax cuts to the rich and etc.

He should campaign in Southeast Ohio with Sen. Brown, try to win Meigs County.

He needs to rack up Brown 2006-Brown 2012-Brown 2018 numbers.

Yeah this is why Vance is the best candidate, he can effectively turn Ryan's populism on it's head.

Ryan needs to can all of them, Mandel, Vance, Gibbons, Timken, Dolan.

He can effectively call Dolan a plutocrat since his cousin and uncle and father are sports tycoons. However, Dolan may counter act saying that Ryan is part of the PC left that forced him to change the Cleveland Baseball Team to the Guardians.

However, in southeast Ohio, are most people there Pirates fans or Reds fans? Or Guardians fans?

Ohio Democrats need to look themselves in the mirror to why they are about to lose to incendiary people like Josh Mandel and JD Vance in 2022 and possibly Jim Jordan in 2024.

If Democrats would focus on economics, ECONOMICS, maybe dump BBB and continued to press for a  minimum wage hike even if Sinema voted it down, they would have been in a better position.

This. So much this.

It's shameful. Ohio Democrats in 2022 and 2024, if Brown is likely to lose, needs to go to the drawing board and see what they did right in 2006 and 2008.

Vance is right.

A Vance-Ryan race is a tossup.

A Mandel-Ryan race is Lean D.

A Timken/Dolan/Gibbons race is Safe R.

I am fine with Vance in Congress, he may bridge the divide with the black working class and white working class. Don't be surprised if he appeals to Black pastors.

Lean/Likely R

Ryan is a good candidate. Sad that he had to run in 2022. He would have probably lost in 2016 because Clinton was on the ticket
