The Bidens are flying a private plane to Washington, marking another break in protocol.
From CNN's Jeff Zeleny

President-elect Joe Biden will fly to Washington today on a private aircraft, yet another change in protocol on the eve of his inauguration.

CNN’s Peter Morris spotted two Sun Country aircraft at the Delaware National Guard airfield, where Biden is scheduled to depart

A person familiar with the matter confirmed to CNN that Biden was not taking a US government plane to Joint Base Andrews for the first stop of his inauguration festivities.

"He’s flying private," the source said, declining to say whether the government did not offer Biden a plane.

A second source familiar with the matter said the government did not offer the Bidens a plane, but did not have details.

The last sentence is disturbing, if true.
Why would they not offer Biden a secure, government plane?
Could trump's people really be this horrible?

LOL.
How embarrassing.
Why would he stand there all alone ... and with a flag no less?

I really wonder if kicking Trump off Twitter was the key to all of this. Otherwise he would have continued to rile up his crazy supporters to cause trouble at the inauguration and state capitals.

Probably true.
That, and the fact that many of the "crazies" have been seeing, reading and having personal experiences of their "friends" being rounded-up like animals (that they are) by the FBI and going to jail/court.

One thing about Lada Gaga, when she turned to the flag ...

Most people would not turn their back (or to one side) when singing the National Anthem (when cameras are in front). In my opinion, she did this to address the specific flag flying over The Capitol.
Almost to say that this flag endured the "perilous fight" and "bombs bursting in air" on January 6th during the Trump Insurrection. But it survived and will continue to always "still be there" for you and for me.

Trump has some interesting supporters.

She says that "I don't even see our American flag any more."
I guess she just likes to see the American flag when it is being used to beat Capitol police officers ... https://youtu.be/SVhLKKTUhIg

Trump's White House chief usher has been fired.
From CNN's Kate Bennett

White House chief usher Timothy Harleth has been fired by the Bidens, two sources with knowledge confirm to CNN.

Harleth was hired by Melania Trump in 2017 to fill the role of chief usher. Harleth came to the White House from Trump International Hotel DC, where he was rooms manager.

Harleth took the place of Angella Reid, who was hired during the Obama administration.

Chief ushers can stay through multiple administrations, however Harleth’s firing did not come as a surprise to several sources inside the White House.

CNN has reached out to the first lady's office for comment.

Edit to add ...

Wow. On Day 1 even.
Is it not normal for people to be informed ahead of time?
I'm wondering if some of the staff, quickly went to Jill/Joe about some of the things Harleth may have said and done, and the Bidens in disgust, fired him on the spot.
