You'd think blaming the Bush Administration - - regardless of how unpopular he currently is even among Republicans - - of propagating 911 rather than those damn Muslim terrorists would be super unpopular in North Georgia, even in the age of qanon.

The 14th Congressional District of Georgia could see the GOP run a dog turd between two slices of white bread and it would beat a Democratic candidate. The district is designed for the GOP to win. The district has come as close to having dog turd in office now and the GOP should work to find a better person for the next election cycle.

Perhaps this might be a hot take, but I don't think anyone should ever be stripped of committee assignments, under any circumstances.

It is literally their job as Congressmen to serve in committees. If Congress doesn't want them doing their job, then expel them. But if not, they should get to serve in commitees.

Why should GA-14's duly elected representative be treated any different from the other 434 congressmen? She may be crazy and stupid, but it's who the people of GA-14 chose to represent them in Congress.

Woodrow Wilson said that Congress in committee is at Congress at work, and Congress in session is Congress on exhibition. Marjorie Taylor Greene is a pure exhibitionist.

Someone should have told the voters of GA-14 that before it was too late though. There's still time to convince them not to reelect MTG in 2022 though!

If the voters of GA-14 had any basic understanding of politics they should have been aware from the start that MTG holds views and positions of such a extreme nature that ramifications like losing commitee assignments have always been a strong possibility with her. Yet they voted for her anyway.

To my knowledge she hasn't done anything crazy on the House floor? If she was unruly in the floor she could be kicked out (my mind always comes to the UK and when an MP was kicked for calling the PM "Dodgy Dave"). But I don't think this applies here?

No, that isn't what parliamentary immunity means. Parliamentary immunity means that a lawmaker is immune from criminal prosecution. Authorities haven't charged MTG with a crime though and stripping someone of committee assignments is also not a form of law enforcement. The two things haven't anything to do with each other.

Well, since MTG wasn't expelled she'll continue to represent the people of GA-14 in Congress.
