COVID is the biggest news story of the twenty-first century. The attempted autogolpe is a distant second, maybe with the family separation policy as an even more distant third.

Certainly of the first quarter of the 21st century; we still have another 79 years to go.

This seems about right. What an absolutely terrible legacy.

George Flyod protests is also a big mention as well as well as the Mee too movement. Honourable mentions include the Climate Protests, post election recounts, stock market craziness, Big Tech policy/social media.

I meant for "...so far" to be implied, but touché.

There’s still 10 days left in his presidency.

To quote some dumb bimbo, “the best is yet to come.”

I see. I can only shudder at the additional challenges we shall confront as this century progresses. The specter of climate change looms.

There was no North Korean "deal". Only Trump granting the North Koreans the legitimacy and Prestige of a summit with the US president with no concessions whatsoever, simply because they sufficiently flattered Trump's ego and he likes authoritarian strongmen.
