After Trump got banned from Twitter, he decides not to run again and decides ultimately to leave politics forever. However, his base is here to stay.

Cruz ended up beating Josh Hawley, Charlie Baker and Nikki Haley for the Republican nomination and he choose Hawley to be on the ticket in order to further garner Trump votes in the general election.

On the Democratic Side, Joe Biden decides to run for re election at age 81, and keeps Kamala Harris as his VP.

What took place under Biden:

- Vaccine rollout excelled under Biden after he invoked the defense authorization act
- The United States ended the coronavirus epidemic in November 2021 and officially returned to normal in December 2021. (The coronavirus pandemic officially ended March 2022)
- Biden does not end up packing the court
- Biden passes immigration reform that would allow for daca recipients permanent legal status
- Republicans win back both the house and senate
- Biden maintains a 50-55% approval rating

Who wins and what does the map look like?

Sounds like 2012 redux. Democrats regain trifecta or at least house, only to lose again in 2026.

This ticket would be laughably toxic.  It might be able to inch close enough to Harris, who seems more ideological and polarizing than Biden, but if a competent Biden is running as an incumbent...

This would not be a good ticket for Republicans to run. Biden wins with his 2020 map + NC and FL. I doubt Cruz loses his home state.

I can't see Cruz making it through the primaries, but a flipped version of the ticket is plausible. 2020 + NE-02 - NC and FL.
