I remember The Truth (with Jokes) by Al Franken being a very good 2004 postmortem, and I'm saying this as someone whose opinion of Franken was permanently lowered by the sexual harassment scandal.

Not a book, but the Newsweek 2000 special election issue isn't bad.

I've never read any books on either the 2000 or 2004 election.  I've read on the 1988, 1992 and 1996 election (and earlier.)

Thanks for the recommendation. So far, I’ve enjoyed the reference to the little-known true name of Let’s Get It Started and the before-they-were-famous references to Markey and McConnell.
