So has Ossoff and Warnock been sworn in?

No, this won't likely happen until the Senate reconvenes on Jan. 19.  The counties haven't even finished counting yet; overseas ballots can arrive as late as tomorrow and still be counted, and provisional ballots can still be cured by the same deadline.  The counties must certify their results by Jan. 15, and the state should do so shortly thereafter since both races are outside the recount margin.  Once that occurs, they can be sworn in.  Loeffler remains in the Senate until Warnock is sworn in, since she's filling Johnny Isakson's unexpired term; Perdue's seat is vacant until Ossoff is sworn in.

Based on this timeline, Loeffler won't even be able to deliver a farewell speech.

I guess she isn't going to do the 25th Amendment?

Coward. Doesn't want to expose her hubby to the political Fallout of having to take a stand for basic American principles of democracy.

It'd be pointless anyway. Trump would immediately resist the effort and would force a vote in congress regardless. I want him gone as soon as possible, but the 25th is not going to do it for us. We need impeachment now.

The clock can probably be run out on that. Congress doesn't have to vote for 21 days and Pence would be acting P in the meantime.

Is there any distinction between a member of the cabinet and an acting member of the cabinet as far as the 25th Amendment goes? I'm assuming there's no precedent on the matter, so you'd basically have to get everyone on board to make it as clear as possible before Trump inevitably tries to sue to stay in power.

I've seen reports that four people have died but the only person I'm aware of is the air force veteran from California that was shot.  Does anyone know anything about who the other three were?

They died from medical emergencies, probably heart attacks or something. Their names haven't been released yet probably since the families are still being notified.

I have heard reports, but don't know how reliable they are, that the other three were:

1. Fell off the Capitol steps and hit their head.
2. Heart attack after a flash-bang went off close to them.
3. Heart attack after accidentally self-tasing.

The owners of 8chan, as well as Q if he's not one of them, should be facing 4 murder charges.

trump should be facing murder charges as well.
He incited this violence just hours before it took place.

"Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President."

Question is what are "principal officers of the executive departments"? I guess if push comes to shove, the Supreme Court needs to decide on the constitutionality of acting cabinet secretaries removing Trump from office.

Just horrifying.

The way the flag is positioned in the first photo makes it look like a KKK hood on his head. Very fitting for their actions.

So this wouldn’t include, say, the USTR or anything like that?

President and Commander-in-Chief Joe Biden's speech is so wonderful. He's no longer cautious and destroys Trump.

Trump has brought a lot of nasty people out of the woodwork. They have always been there, but having a President on their side has emboldened them.

Yet, doesn't call for police to arrest criminals.

Come ON Nancy! “Invoke the 25th amendment by tomorrow or the House will begin impeachment proceedings” should not be that hard to say.

BREAKING: Bolsonaro justifies the terrorist attacks on the US capitol, says US election was a party in which people voted three, four times and even dead people were allowed to vote. Defends same discourse from Trump.

He also threatens Brazilian democracy: “If we have electronic voting in 2022, a similar thing will happen here. Electoral fraud exists.”

He wants a similar coup here and knows Brazilian electronic system is too safe, which is why he is bullying to a paper vote and using these threats. Because it’s easier to suppress the vote and control people’s choice that way.

Thing is, US voting isn’t electronic so his argument makes no sense since he is insisting US presidential elections were a fraud lmao. And they have the voting system he defends. These extremists and fascists are a joke.
