Given the wins in Georgia, what are your thoughts on the future of HR 1?

Will it pass?
What impact will it have if it does?

The GOP will try to filibuster, which is just one more reason to nuke the filibuster once and for all.

It looks good but I'm worried about democrats like Bustos, Underwood, Horsdord etc who benefit from gerrymandering might object

I don't see Senate Democrats abolishing the filibuster (at least not in the 117th Congress), and I don't see HR1 getting through the Senate while the filibuster is in place.

But I suppose one can hope that enough Senate Republicans would sign on to pass a watered-down version of the bill. I don't think we're going to get nationwide independent commissions, but many of the other reforms seem like they could be on the table.

Fitzpatrick had some compromise bill up recently which did include some HR 1 stuff. However I don't expect D's to compromise after DC statehood.
