How different has been the reaction on this forum regarding Trumps Upset Win in 2016 versus Biden's expected win in 2020 ?

2020 by far has been less tense for both sides. 2016 saw the worst Red avatar meltdown I’ve ever seen.

Go read any thread from November 2016. It’s not hard.

I honestly was worried that we would see something similar this year, Glad drama and arguing was largely avoided!

One big difference is that the combination of the forum crashing in 2016 and the long drawn-out results and legal contests in 2020 meant that there was a lot less drop-off after election night this year. In 2016 it felt like the rest of November was very quiet except for the conservatives dancing on Hillary's political grave and Democrats constantly rehashing the primary. There was a lot more for both sides to talk about this year, even after we knew who won.

In 2016 everyone was griving and crying all over the forum and we were all expected to be understanding of it.  I was crying too but some others were much worse.  Now we're all expected to be happy sunshine and move on.

Tbh I kinda wish I had been here in 2016 just to see the meltdown. The environment must have truly been a depressing one.
