Of these, I've seen Stranger Things, the Mandalorian, and Narcos: Mexico. I also watched a few episodes of the Clone Wars but not enough to know much about it.

I put on a couple episodes of Ted Lasso as my flight was about to land. No interest in seeing that or any of these again.

The Handmaid's Tale ironically stars a Scientologist. That's all I know about it.

The Handmaid's Tale ironically stars a Scientologist. That's all I know about it.

Debatable.

Going as far back as Atwood's original novel the point this "franchise" always tried to make was that the founders and leaders of Gilead don't really live by what they preach, meaning their system isn't as much about religious fundamentalism as it is about opressing and subjugating women. The religion thing was just a convenient means to an end, probably more so in the TV show because here the infertility crisis as the motivation why Gilead was created in the first place was put fron and center. They thought they needed to strip women of their rights to use them as birthing machines and to officially justify this they resorted to the Old Testament.

Of course one could argue that the leaders of Scientology don't live by what they preach either and their religious tenets are also merely a convenient means to an end... in this case, "the end" isn't the subjugation of women though, but financial profit. However, considering that Elisabeth Moss probably counts as (and/or considers herself) both a feminist and a capitalist that doesn't necessarily make her a hypocrite in a strict sense, because she simply thinks oppressing women is bad, while making money is good. None. Though I hope to watch season two of 'The Mandalorian' soon. I don't have Disney+ though and need to leech off my friend to watch it.

Stranger Things: Slowly declined in quality, even as I totes like Max the best. Too many characters and not enough plot to cover ALL of them.

Harley Quinn: Surprisingly a lot of fun, probably the best adult cartoon ongoing since BoJack wrapped up and R&M went too far up its behind...Season 2 much better than 1...though the ending was weak

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Best thing on the list by far, I freely admit it's the last thing in SW I've seen...not changing that anytime soon, Maul v. Ahsoka is too high a note not to end on!

Dark: It's a perfectly stereotypical German show for good or bad. Personally, I'd have preferred a more stereotypical Swedish [or Slavic] take since that would mean more humor involved, if albeit dark and bleak humor and all the tangled plotlines got really hard to follow towards the end.

Handmaids Tale - Watched a couple episodes. Can't remember if it was this year or last year. Found it creepy and off putting so I didn't finish it.

Narcos Mexico - I watched the original Narcos and loved it. Watched the first season of Mexico and it didn't draw me in nearly as much. Didn't bother with the second season. Might watch at some point if I'm bored.

Crown - Only one of these that I actually finished. Just finished it a couple weeks ago. Good show.

ones I finished:
Lasso-better than it seems like it should be
Cobra Kai-good, better than it should have been.  Some parts were great, some parts were painfully bad.  Really, it's good only because the "bad guy" from Karate Kid is acting his off.
STDisco-meh
The Umbrella Aca-some good stuff, some corny stuff....it's not as good as it should have been
The Witcher-wife made me watch it, it's WAY better than it should have been.  I still wouldn't recommend it if you're not into the game or books.

shows I've watched 3 or more eps of but didn't finish:
The Crown-yawn
The Boys-loved it, the wife wants to watch it too, but at the same time, neverwantstoactuallywatchit, so we've only seen 4 eps.  I may watch it without her.

I have watched and finished Stranger Things, The Umbrella Academy, Dark, and The Expanse (except season 5). Dark is the best show and The Expanse is the second best. I also liked the other two, but I wouldn't re-watch them. I tend to like shows with more serious themes, so that's probably why I preferred Dark and The Expanse. I also watched a few episodes of The Crown but didn't get into it enough to watch any more than that.

The Boys, the Crown, Star Trek: Picard, Stranger Things, and Cobra Kai.

But the last two didn't have new seasons in 2020?

5/20

The Expanse
Star Trek: Picard
The Crown
Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Star Wars: The Mandalorian

I would mention my guilty pleasure among those based on the poll, but apparently most here don't want to. I've been meaning to get around to watching The Umbrella Academy based on some family recommendations.
