That is, he won those voters who had an unfavorable opinion of both candidates. Throughout the campaign, pollsters said Trump was losing this group to Biden after winning it over Hillary in 2016 and that was contributing to Biden's lead being bigger than Hillary's ever was.

Yet Trump still won this group by 17 points, but...they were just 3% of the electorate. He had a 6-point margin with voters who liked both candidates (also 3%).

What allowed Biden to win was that voters who like him but not Trump were the largest group (49%) plus he got a respectable number with those who liked both or disliked both (Hillary did even worse with both those groups).

I find it hard to believe that there are just as many people who like both Biden and Trump compared to people who hate both of them.

Trump has started out at negative ratings on the day he was elected in 2016 and never had a net approval rating, that's how bad it's been for the Trip administration, cand will be remembered in the same category as Taft, and Hoover, Prez whom have lost the House and lost Reelection in just 4 yrs

He will be remembered as the Prez no one wanted, he got in due to being a celebrity candidate

It depends on the sources. FOX/AP says Biden won the voters that have an unfavorable opinion of both.

Instead, they have Trump winning the ones who think positively of both by a landslide.

https://www.foxnews.com/elections/2020/general-results/voter-analysis

Favorable opinion of both            4%     Trump 65-34 (Trump +31)
Favorable view of Trump only       43%     Trump 99-1 (Trump +98)
Favorable view of Biden only        47%    Biden 98-1   (Biden +97)
Neither                                      6%     Biden 50-34 (Biden +16)

Unless this poll was conducted at the Player Haters Ball I don't think we can be sure of this.

Perhaps this would describe Trump-skeptic Republicans who disapproved of Trump on a personal or moral level-such as the group you identify with (white evangelicals)-but who still voted for Trump because of policy considerations, and because they consider Democrats to be too radical on the issues that they care about, such as abortion.

Seriously. I'm always imagining the discussion with that poster over the phone. Or sitting with them over coffee and hearing them explain their worldview.

Someone who is strongly partisan for their side but for whatever reason dislikes their party's nominee while they don't mind the other party's candidate. A lot of people do vote based on habit or indeed on policy.

Most of our female candidates lost at the Congressial level due to Pelosi not holding a vote on the 1.8T package.  If D's would have held most of the races, the D's would not have been in this predicament.

They need to do better in 2022

This begs the question...who thinks favorably only of Trump and then votes for Biden? You explained the reverse well, but I'm stumped on this one.

A 900 year old blue dog Democrat from somewhere in the rural South?
