5-1 win is not a bad start to the season

I drafted my fantasy team last night, 11th pick, I couldn't buy a decent draft position in any sport.  Cry
I did mine too. Made some risky choices that might pay off.

I took...
- Eichel over Patrick Kane, Stamkos, Matthews, Marchand
- Scheifele over Ovechkin, Rantanen
- Pettersson over Tavares, Stone, Point
- Teravainen over Barkov, Laine, Nugent-Hopkins
- Makar over Barzal, Nylander, O'Reilly, Tkachuk
- Hart over Rask

Leafs spank the Habs in overtime on opening night. You love to see it.

Who's ready for the NHL season to begin later today?

I am for sure.  Starting off against Filthadelphia is a good way to begin!

Amen.  They'll be decent this year but this Yinzer has a healthy dislike of the Flyers.  Smiley

Be careful what you wish for!

I may lose this week because of the Dallas Stars being delayed because of COVID, Miro Heiskanen and Alexander Radulov.

Preds got 2 solid wins over their old whipping boys from the old Central, the Blue Jackets.  I'll get excited if they get a few more over other teams.  Glad to see the former Wild players (Kunin, Haula) are working out so well so far!

The #1 ranked fantasy player at the moment happens to be my 3rd string goalie Semyon Varlamov .  Cheesy

10 years ago today, the Eric Brewer trade to Tampa Bay got us Jordan Binnington in the 2011 NHL Draft. Binnington played a crucial role in helping the Blues win the Cup in 2019.

Unfortunately for hockey, there aren't any fans in the stands and most people aren't watching, basketball either, and the same is gonna be with baseball

162 games without any fans in stands isn't gonna get much TV viewership and hockey and Baseball are slow paced games

How about that Blues-Sharks game that combined for 13 goals and a Binnington v. Dubnyk fight attempt? The Blues won 7-6.

I'd like Ron Hextall for forgo his GM job for a few nights and get in goal and start beating the sh**t out of assholes with his fists and stick like he used to.  The Penguins need a wake up call.

I'd say more uninspired than over the hill.  Geno is in a f****ng daze out there nightly.  Last night we had a spark but we need more of it.

Have any hockey players tried just putting the puck in their mouths and spiting it into the goal? They keep sticking some sort of guard in their mouths during games.

Y'all had a spark because Ghost/Braun were playing hot potato with the puck all night and our first line was the only one that got anything going. Tonight's crucial for both teams, standings in the East are tight rn.

And the D was leaving Hart out to dry all night. He's an amazing goalie but he can't do it all on his own.

Hextall is running around PPG Paints looking for someone to beat with a goalie stick.

Leafs look good. They look like they SHOULD be making it to the third round of the playoffs or further. It's the Leafs though, so I doubt they will.

How about Mike Hoffman tonight?! He saved the game with a defensive intervention to prevent an empty net goal that led to David Perron tying the game up 2-2 with about 45 seconds left in regulation to ensure that the Blues got at least one point. In OT, Hoffman, on a delayed penalty against the Kings, scored the game-winner to give the Blues a 3-2 OT win over the Kings.
