Supposin' the ol' Bern-man fancies primarying young whippersnapper Joseph R. Biden Jr  - how would that go? How unpopular would Biden need to be to be vulnerable to a challenge from his 2020 runner-up?

Based on his heart attack and actuarial tables, JFK would have about as good a chance by then.

Less morbidly, let's just be real here. He ain't running. If he's still kicking in 2024, he might give his blessing to a younger leftist challenger (probably AOC), but he won't run himself.

He has as good a chance of still being around by then as Biden does.

That said, he won't run and Biden probably shouldn't either.

Biden hasn’t had a heart attack.

No, just a stroke and he casually broke his leg from tripping over a dog.

Biden hasn’t had a stroke. He was treated for two aneurysm in the 80s and hasn’t had any vascular problems since. Breaking a bone tripping is something that can happen to anyone, regardless of age. My sister did it when she was nine or ten.

I'm no actuary, but I think that Bernie not having to be President for the next four years might help compensate for this. I think both should retire in January 2025.

I voted for Sanders in the 2016 and 2020 primaries and probably would again in 2024, but I don't see him winning the nomination unless nanobots are available by then that can reverse aging.
