I named myself after the son of one of the richest men of the world.
I wish my parents would have me baptized that name, but alas, no special characters for babies' names allowed in Germany. 😟 🙅🏻 🤷🏼‍♂️

Nothing too complicated, the first two initials of my name (Mi) and my two surnames (MoHa).

Obviously the 36th President of the United States.

Naw, you could just as well be named after the 17th President of the United States, who was also a Democrat and who also happened to become president owing to the assassination of his predecessor.

the first wife cut my hair too short, the movie Dead Man Walking was in the theaters, when I went into work someone said "dead man walking" because I looked like I was on death row and I look like Sean Penn

(I don't really look like Sean Penn)

Battlefield 2 name originally.

There was a team called MEC which was the Middle Eastern Coalition.

Amazingly over the mic, in Battlefield 5, most people call me Macleans or Macklenzie.

It's uncanny how many times they say those 2 names.

King T'Chenka
--- King T'Challa --- The name of superhero Black Panther from Marvel Comics
plus
--- Chenk --- A mis-pronounciation of the first name of Cenk Uygur, the progressive leftist political commentator who owns The Young Turks and a co-founder of Justice Democrats

I Only Smile In The Dark
Lyrics to the song "I'm Only Happy When It Rains" by 90's rock band Garbage:

I'm only happy when it rains
I feel good when things are goin' wrong
I only listen to the sad, sad songs
I'm only happy when it rains

I only smile in the dark
My only comfort is the night gone black
I didn't accidentally tell you that
I'm only happy when it rains

Battista Minola is the name of a character in William Shakespeare's The Taming Of The Shrew. I don't particularly like the character but I love the fact that he has a full Italian name (first name + surname). 1616 is the year in which Shakespeare died and also a funny number.

I could have chosen the name of the character I actually played in The Taming Of The Shrew in high school - Gremio - but he is really too awful.

Shameless plug for my artwork in the "who would fictional characters vote for?" thread:
I know that putting 16th-century characters into our contemporary understanding of politics is way beyond absurd, but I want to do The Taming of the Shrew just because I can.

My current display name "I Was So Wrong", which will last for one day more only, is because I bet that Joe Biden would crack 60% in Rhode Island... and I lost.

When I joined the forum in 2004 my research was focused on detecting and identifying muons from subatomic particle interactions. I had designed the level 2 muon trigger for the experiment and was working with a group looking for 2 muons in a single event. I particularly like the quote about the muon's discovery from Nobel Prize winner I. I. Rabi, "Who ordered that?"

I had and still have a car with the license plate MUON2, so if you see it in your area say hi.

A misspelling of the British Conservative party - a party that I much prefer to the American array.  And musing about it, as a party switcher, it is very sad how the Dems and Pubs are so socially polarized now. I don't personally know anyone who admits, except for reason of circumstance, to being in tune and identifying with the Pub party.

Displayed name: Should be obvious... opposition to Donald Trump and support for the Biden/Harris ticket.

Username: An attempt to mock Donald Rumsfeld in relation with the Iraq War back in 2004.

And a Southerner born in '08. It's really ironic they had a lot of similarities.

Meanwhile, both almost mirror each other on civil rights as exact opposites. Andy Johnson was probably the most racist president ever, while Lyndon Johnson has done more for civil rights than almost any other president.

What did you choose your username for? Is it named after a fictional character? Your political views? Just your regular first name?
Yep.

True. But Barry Goldwater would almost be a moderate Republican today. I think he even said this in the 1990s that he can't believe to be a moderate these days. I have a feeling Goldwater is often missunderstood, party because the Democrats were too harsh on him. He was conservative, but heavily influenced by libertarian philosophy. While I strongly disagree with his opposition to the Civil Rights Act, he was wrongly painted as a racist, which he clearly wasn't (unlike the Democrats who opposed the act). He just had the belief it's no business of the federal government. And especially towards the end of his life, he became very critical of religious fanatics and evangelicals gaining influence within the Republican Party. He proved to be correct on this.

I'm sure Goldwater would be appalled to see how the Republican Party has become a Trump cult today.

The squirrel from Over the Hedge, but because it coincided with interacting with people online more it essentially became a general nickname after not too long.

The murder of Marielle Franco deeply moved me at the time. I liked the party name she was in so much, so I chose it as a homage to her and her values.
