Background:

Beginning in March, 1454. Richard, Duke of York and cousin to King Henry VI, has been named Protector of the Realm and Regent of the Kingdom due to a bout of insanity suffered by the King. The Queen Consort, Margaret of Anjou, is furious with the decision. Richard Neville, Earl of Salisbury, and his son, the Earl of Warwick, stand by York's side, while Henry VI's greatest ally, Edmund Beaufort, Duke of Somerset, has been imprisoned in the Tower and his loyal general Humphrey Stafford, Duke of Buckingham, is serving as Steward of England and trying to keep the peace. The tensions of the realm are at a boiling point and some believe war is on the horrizon between the white rose of York and the red rose of Lancaster.

It's a difficult choice, still deciding between Buckingham or Salisbury.

May I also recommend other English lords (like Edmund Tudor or the Percys of Northumberland) rather than the foreign monarchs? May keep the simulation more concentrated.

If we reach the point where the extra players are involved, that’s a fine suggestion.

This is the first time I am doing something like this (so I won't be that good at it), so I think it would be fair for me to ask for a potential character: so, I'll take James II

While I would be glad to have you, the potential characters are only available once all of the critical character roles are filled.

I'm confused, what is the difference between Richard Neville, Earl of Warwick and Richard Neville Earl of Salisbury? I can't really find the difference between them online.

Anywho, I'll take Stafford. If you'd prefer someone else for that role, I'll take one of the potential characters.

Salisbury was Warwick’s father

S was York’s brother in law. W was York’s nephew

As Garland said, Neville of Salisbury is the father of Neville of Warwick.

Glad to see this group of characters coming together!

Feeling a bit bad for Marg! Would you rather have her than initially imprisoned Beaufort DKrol? If so I’d switch but if you’re relaxed Beaufort seems slightly less intense perhaps

I'd rather have you playing someone you're happy with and excited to play as.

I'll take Margaret of Anjou, unless someone else wants her, in which case I'll switch to a secondary character

Very excited to see the main cast filled out!

I've edited the secondary players with Lumine's suggestion to localize them to the British Isles. I'm going to work on the first post but I'm going to wait probably until this weekend before posting to give us time for secondary player spots to fill in.

Henry Percy, I guess. Where can I get information about this on the internet aside from Wikipedia?

The way I’ve thought it through, because of how suddenly IRL Henry descended and recovered from his illness, is that the player will submit full orders and then a dice roll will decide if Henry snaps out of it in a given turn.
