I know that HHH wasn't on the ballots so I worded it carefully.

I'd of course have supported McCarthy.

I'm torn between Robert Kennedy and Hubert Humphrey.  If pressed, probably Bobby.

Dislike McCarthy, and prefer Kennedy over Humphrey.

Just a note: Humphrey was not a candidate in the primaries.

I understand that.  I tried to word the question in such a way to account for that, in saying "support" instead of "vote."

I thought Wallace ran for the Democratic Primary originally in 1968?  I probably would have supported him or Humphery, though RFK is not a bad fellow.

Humphrey, though Kennedy probably would have been a stronger candidate.

I would of course have supported HHH, though I would've known that Kennedy would have made the better candidate.

If George Wallace had been a candidate in the 1968 Democratic Primary, I would have voted for him.  Otherwise, it would have been a tough decision between Hubert Humphrey and Robert Kennedy.  I think in the end I actually would have voted for RFK, since he had a dynamic personality that would have been refreshing to the Democratic Party when it was being torn over the Vietnam War.  The assassination of Bobby Kennedy was the worst loss for the Kennedy family, in my opinion.  I thought RFK was considerably smarter than his brothers, and had he been elected president I think he would have gotten more accomplished in office than John.

Wallace ran in the Democratic primaries in 1964 and 1972. In 1968 he formed the AIP to be his vehicle.

The AIP is now known, of course, as the Constitution Party.

At least in California it is.
