Hello Lincoln Voters. This weekend along with a gubernatorial race we also have 3 referendums on the ballot, one of which is the Sanction Fast Food Act. I am asking that you, regardless of your vote in the gubernatorial race, vote NO on this ballot measure. This bill would add a 20% tax on all food products containing salt and refined sugar and a 30% tax on all food products containing "processed meats". This would make it more difficult for Lincolnites, especially those with low income to obtain proper nutrition. Although excessive salt consumption can create health problems, it is an essential nutrient that we can not live without. It is also often paired with the essential nutrient iodine, which can be difficult to obtain from other sources. This would make obtaining these vital nutrients financially more difficult than it already is, and given how common salt in food is it would apply to a huge swathe of food items. The term "processed meat" is also not defined and could easily apply to any meats which have undergone any sort of "process" such as ground beef. There is nothing inherently unhealthy about a large portion of these potential "processed meats" and this bill would add a huge tax to staple food items which are common sources of protein, iron, and many more nutrients. I am asking, for the sake of our people who already find it difficult to get their daily food needs and will be even worse off if this were to pass, to vote NO.

The DA and Labor don't agree on much, but this is one thing that we can both find common ground on. While I'm not a Lincolner, I urge y'all to reject this attack on affordable, delicious food.

Endorsed.

I vetoed this bill for a reason and I urge all residents of Lincoln to reject this piece of legislation.

Lincoln's average IQ dropped drastically after you expatriated for Montana.

Lincoln's really trying to take the "Worst Region" mantle from the South. None of this would happen if Lincoln Labor elected sensible people rather than Wulfric and Suburban.

Hopefully after this mess the Labor Party will finally recognize getting S019 and Wulfric elected is a dumb move and will make a real effort to stop that from happening again in the future.

Can't vote against this garbage, but the "No" vote has my endorsement.

Lincoln has held the title of "worst region" for a long, long time.

I endorse a Yes vote here, though I am not currently in the Lincoln region in this game.

CIP has just projected that the Sanction Fast Food Act has been defeated. Good work, y'all!

Somehow missed this. Would also like to remind everyone that Brother Jonathan alone, out of the entire Lincoln Council, had the good sense to vote against the bill.

x Joseph Cao

EDIT: Consider this a post from, say, five minutes before the bill was projected to be defeated. Loses a lot of its purpose otherwise.
