I don't understand why people think Oz is a net-negative candidate. He isn't great, but he has positive name recognition from his show, and he isn't running like a far-right winger. This is only a Biden+1 state up in a red wave year, and Trump even won it in 2016. Not to mention he will probably be facing Fetterman who is quite progressive.

I don't think that's a good comparison. Fetterman won multiple elections as mayor and then Lt. Governor. He was progressive but made the right party connections the whole way. Turner just...didn't do that.
Is it really fair to say he won LT Gov when he just rode the ticket with Wolf? I don't think Fetterman running for LT Gov impacted the margin of the ticket. Idk it kind of feels like saying Kamala Harris or Mike Pence have demonstrated a success at winning when they were carried by Biden and Trump respectively and had little impact on the outcome of the election.

I know Lamb is a "fake moderate" but he would have been able to contrast himself from someone like Barnette as a moderate vs radical. Nominating Fetterman takes that ability away from the Dems, because Fetterman on the issues is very similar to Bernie Sanders. While Barnette also comes off as very right wing, Republicans can afford to get more leeway with picking their nominee because of the national environment.

They will likely contest it. Trump got 49% of the vote in the state and it is a red wave year. No party has won 3 consecutive terms to it since the 1950s. This doesn't mean it's going to flip, but Republicans aren't going to just let this race die because they have a controversial candidate.

Dems no longer know how to appeal to rural America and this ad only amplifies it. Painting a TV show doctor celebrity born in Ohio as a Turkish radical is just hilarious. These strategists people think it's 2002 and rural voters are going to vote against someone because he is a Muslim. Anyway, Turkey is a member of NATO, and is actually doing more to help Ukraine than the US is lol.

If there is a decent amount of crossover with the moderate suburbanites Oz should be okay. The effect is probably muted in Pittsburgh but Philadelphia is much bigger. The big question is how many people in Philly metro area will Shapiro/Oz voters? The biggest worry for Oz is how many people in Western PA go Mastriano/Fetterman. Oz doesn't need to exceed Trumps margin in those counties but he needs to be able to match them at least.

The time for Fetterwoman to attack Oz on this was earlier this summer. Instead he resorted to the muh from "NJ" attack and allowed Oz to slowly build support in the last few months. Now he is struggling to find something that sticks. Maybe Fetterman's attack on Oz's product history would work if he wasn't the one getting a stroke from his diet, and a 60 year old Oz looks younger than him wasn't going around jogging as he often does. It's not the same as an obese Alex Jones selling supplements. Oz is a healthy individual, Fetterman is not.

NBC link is an opinion piece. The author used the the Jezebel article as an enterance point to discuss the morality of animals in research in general. It did not confirm or deny the valdidity of the article and the opinion piece was not focused on Oz but rather research at large.

Fetterman isn't just slightly deaf, which is different than struggling to comprehend speech. It's pretty obvious he isn't the same as he was pre stroke.
