I think the mainstream media still has a lot of respect for Oz as one of their own, plus Fetterman doesn't fit in with the intolerable Democrats that they like, so I'm not surprised they're going all in against him.

Plus Fetterman, for lack of a better word, is a weirdo. The whole hoodie-lives in his mom's basement-thing just gives off vibes that tell me the white male vote will go heavily against him.
Both of the candidates strike a lot of people as weirdos.

Fetterman is a more likable weirdo, though.

Nah. There's two types of weirdos. Fetterman is the anti-cop pro-college kid weirdo. That doesn't play well with the straight, white PA male.

https://www.cnn.com/2022/10/12/politics/john-fetterman-medical-records-pennsylvania-senate-race/index.html

Media still hammering him. Chris Matthews asked yesterday on MSNBC whether or not Fetterman would be able to "debate on the Senate floor".

This is an albatross around his neck, despite the slim optimism on this forum. Reminds me a bit of Andrew Gillum in 2018.

Chris Matthews also compared Bernie Sanders winning the Nevada Caucus to the Nazis invading France.

And then Bernie lost, right? I might be misunderstanding your reference, but couldn't this be a data point in favor of Matthews/MSNBC momentum playing a part in bringing down a candidate?

No.

I get that people here are desperate for a (pseudo)leftist to be as unpopular as Dr. Oz but I think it's over, folks. I wouldn't be surprised to see Fetterman win by 5 points now, which is an achievement in PA this year after having a stroke.

Blue avatars, it's time to do some soul searching. You can't just say "socialist, weak on crime" anymore and win.

This is ridiculous - with a debate that let’s be honest is going to be a net negative for Fetterman - there is no way in hell this is over. Personally I’ve bet the farm on Oz on PI. Hope I’m wrong

What's PI?

I've never been a fan of Fetterman. I don't dislike him or anything but I never understood the hype about him by some Democrats/liberals.

Dr. Oz is a charlatan & clown. Hopefully, he'll lose.

Anyways, what's the general forecast for this race right now?

LMAO. Are you even from Pennsylvania?

But yes, sure if you want to be delusional and think that Doctor Oz is better suited for those voters, then by all means go ahead lol

Things have gotten a lot worse on the ground for Fetterman in the past week. I think jumping on the dogs story came off as desperate.

Little buddy, how confident are you in Fetterman winning? I am never in the state outside of NEPA.

Are you thinking that Oz has momentum and particularly that he will match and even improve on Trump in the NEPA areas?

Broke: Oz lives in New Jersey and should be sent back there
Woke: Oz should be exiled to Delaware where he can soak up all the credit card money he wants and would basically be a median Democrat

Yes, the question is if he can hold the margins in central and Western PA imo.

He won't do well in Montgomery, Bucks, Delware but those are lame counties.

Dr. Oz would be considered a moderate socialist in Delaware imo.

Lol. One of the funniest parts of Oz's campaign is that he could just as easily have run as a Democrat. Could have primaried Menendez and would've not been a carpetbagger in the process.

I cannot imagine the cringe of watching a congressional session and seeing "Senator Oz from Pennsylvania" being introduced. This is going to be so embarrassing. An animal torturing, dimestore Dr. Phil, snake oil salesman liberal cosplaying as a conservative Republican. America has hit rock bottom.

In all fairness, he's not completely wrong here. At least when it comes to junk food. Obviously healthy food should be cheaper than it currently is.

Still interesting to say this as a Republican though. However, Britain a few years ago imposed a "sugar tax" on certain unhealthy snacks and drinks under a conservative government.

If Fetterman loses it will be because suburbanites and Philadelphia blacks did not turnout for him at the rate he needed. If Oz loses it will be because he didn't get enough turnout in the rural areas.

And Again, another wake up call ignored. If 2016 wasn’t it, then 2022 and 2024 will be the final case study needed in favor of ESG/technocracy.

Lol Oz hasn't lead in a single poll, if Oz can't lead at Trafalgar and they have Biden at 40% not 45% he will never win and all the other polls that have Biden near 50 has Fetterman and Shapiro up 6/9 pts

Two weeks ago a Trafalgar poll with Oz ahead probably would have given me a heart attack. Now, I'm certain it's just going to be pure hackery. I'll laugh if they still can't manage to find him up though.

About that...

I saw! As I predicted my immediate reaction was to cackle.

Ideally, I agree, but it's being used against Oz because it is something completely anathema for a Republican to say. Had he been a Democrat this would probably end his candidacy. So I think it's fair to use against him.

Pretty much. It's a battle to be the least bad. I think this may hurt Oz; as someone said elsewhere, he may have a bit of a Bradley effect due to his Muslim faith.
