Her district will get more Democratic. Polk County has actually grown rapidly in the past few years, so IA-03 will have to become more compact and lose red rural areas. She won’t be safe in a Biden midterm, but I think she’ll start out favored.

Alright, cue the memes.

wouldn't she have any easier time running for her old seat (assuming no gerrymandering)

Also, what earned her meme status

I'm also curious as to how she became a meme. Can someone seriously explain? Funny thing is that I'm fairly sure the "Unbeatable Finkenauer" memes only became a thing after she lost reelection. So maybe it was meant to be an ironic thing?

Will Democrats win a Senate election in Iowa? Eventually, yes. But with or without Grassley, it's not happening in 2022.

I think it would be best if we just ignore Chris Cillizza's takes about this race. And his takes in general.

An 88-year-old man has a life expectancy of 4.8 years and a chance of 13% of dying before his 89th birthday.

TBF, he does seem pretty healthy for an 88 year old. But I think it is very possible that he doesn't serve out the full term either because of death or resignation.
