Today is the AG count. The results will be a portent of the electorates composition.
Such a diverse group of the VAGOP's finest.

Had never heard of Radford before. Turns out it only has ~17k people. Makes me wonder what small towns elsewhere could be bellwethers for their states.
Virginia makes it easy to find the results for (many) towns and cities by having "Independent" cities which are not a part of the surrounding county. No other state allows this, and the only thing somewhat similar are city-counties (Philadelphia and San Francisco).

Big Farifax dump brings McAuliffe to 1 million votes. Now 57.9% of Farifax is in: currently 65.9% McAuliffe - 33.9% Youngkin.

Larry Sabato is on TV basically blaming Manchin/Sinema for the outcome, arguing that if the BBB bills had passed, T-Mac would have had something to run on and "sell" but was left with nothing. Seems like a reasonable analysis.
I can imagine that analysis being accurate. Democrats not accomplishing anything on Biden's agenda that requires Congressional approval doesn't exactly encourage turnout among party members. Biden's term so far has felt like a listless ship lost on the ocean.

Lol, this is the official Council of DC Twitter:

To be fair it retrocession only happened because Alexandrians were worried that slavery would be abolished in DC. So I agree, retrocession was a moral wrong that has long needed to be corrected! Tongue
