TMAC keeps this race as Toss-up/Tilt D. Any of the other jokers on this ballot and general election becomes Lean R at best.

Things can go very badly very fast in midterms. Virginia swung 23 points Republican between 2008 and 2009. Kirk Cox is at least narrowly favored against everyone but The Macker.

Virginia is a fundamentally more Democratic state than it was in 2009. It is only half-exaggerating to say that it might as well be California at this point.

Biden won Virginia by 10 points. He won California by 29 points! That's an absurd exaggeration.

Problem for VA GOP is that they are extremely unlikely to win either Loudoun or Henrico counties. A winning GOP map would not include either of those jurisdictions.

The GOP basically has to get rural MO style margins all across rural Virginia to win statewide.

I feel like if Hogan can convince suburban Democrats to vote for him in Maryland, there's no reason to think Republicans cannot do the same in VA. And they actually need fewer of them in VA, since it's like 20 points to the right of MD.

Yikes, not looking good here. Thank god TMAC seems to be the front runner for the nomination, he’s really the only one with a chance of beating Youngkin.

I don't see how people see Youngkin as a strong candidate the man doesn't even support Same-Sex marriage.
I see any of the D's beating youngkin by a decent amount besides maybe Fairfax and Carter because Farifax is a sexual predator and Carter seems to barely be trying to run a campaign T-mac and the Jennifers would crush any of the republican candidates. Cox is the GOP's strongest candidate and I can't see him cutting margins in Farifax and Loundon County by enough to give him a shot of winning and now he's out of the race. Till further notice, I'm rating this at Likely D closer to Safe then Lean unless a big scandal comes up on the Democratic Nominee and even then it would have to be pretty big.

I absolutely don’t think this guy is a moderate at all but the Enemy of the People media is desperate for a horse race here (see those Dave Wasserman tweets) and will regurgitate his framing as a “moderate, pro-business nice guy Smiley” as necessary.

Every Democrat in Virginia should unite and vote for TMac in the primary. We must do all we can to prevent Lee Carter from being the nominee. Lee Carter would be destroyed. Oh and of course.. our rapist Lt. Governor.

It would be nice if the other candidates dropped out today, and endorsed TMAC before Youngkin is able to blast the airwaves and build up an insurmountable lead. We’ll see how many of them actually value keeping the far-right out of power over continuing their divisive vanity campaigns though.

Chase officially eliminated, RIP FF.

Let's hope our beautiful Super PACs and other dark money organizations are ready to nuke this Youngkin guy before he nukes us.

Big day in Virginia, with two pieces of good news. First, it looks like TMAC and Joe Biden will be hitting the trail together again! TMAC's last minute endorsement famously fueled Biden to an historic victory in the Virginia primary on Super Tuesday.

Second, TMAC raised a ton of money this quarter!

I have no idea how Northam's K-12 Mask Mandate will impact the election. Will energize the GOP base but I have my doubts the Biden voters in Virginia would respond that badly to requiring masks for a population largely ineligible for vaccination.

The majority of people agree with the school mask mandates. I think that's what a lot of people are missing, despite the few kooks that are coming to school board meetings.
Wtf no they don't?? Both young people and parents are sick of the mask BS. THere is no need for them anyway because of the vaccine.

No, masks in schools are popular. The Fox News national poll last week was 54-31 to require masks/vaccines in schools, and Virginia is a blue state, so support is probably even stronger there.

If Youngkin wins, he will not allow Virginia’s electoral votes to be awarded to the Democratic candidate in 2024. They are making it crystal clear at this point.

Looks like turnout data is much easier to come by in D-leaning counties. Only looking at those, things seem to be going okay, but then you occasionally get news out of the R-leaning counties and suddenly the Fox poll doesn’t seem too crazy.

Did any of the polls model an increase over 2017’s turnout? I thought the consensus was that turnout would be lower, but it seems like there’s a good chance it’s actually higher now?

The coal mines don’t close until later in the day. Except those Buchanan numbers to surge as the coal miners take off their hard hats and replace them with MAGA hats.

Not sure why they haven’t called it for Youngkin yet? Where’s TMAC supposed to make up the deficit?
